Torpedo Level
What it is
A torpedo level is a short spirit level, usually about 25 cm, with a bubble vial that shows when a surface is level or plumb. Its small size lets it fit in tight spaces.
Typical uses
It is used by builders, plumbers and installers to check pipes, shelves, frames and small assemblies, and is easily carried in a tool belt.
When you enquire
Tell us if you need a magnetic version for working on metal.
Care and handling
Check its accuracy by reading it on a surface, turning it end for end and reading again; the two results should match. Keep the vials clean, avoid dropping it, and wipe off wet mortar or plaster before it dries.
