Measuring Tape
What it is
A measuring tape is a flexible ruler, usually a steel blade that winds into a case, marked in centimetres and inches, for measuring lengths, widths and distances.
Typical uses
It is used by builders, carpenters and farm workers to mark out plots, measure timber and fencing, set out beds and check the size of materials.
When you enquire
Tell us the length you need, for example 3, 5 or 10 metres, and whether you want a long tape for site work.
Care and handling
Keep the blade clean and dry, wipe off soil and water, and let it retract under control instead of snapping back. Avoid kinking the blade or letting it be run over, and check the end hook is not bent so readings stay accurate.
