Soil pH Meter
What it is
A soil pH meter is a probe that you push into damp soil to read its acidity or alkalinity on a scale. Many simple models need no battery and give a reading within a minute.
Typical uses
It is used to check whether soil suits a crop before planting, to monitor pots and beds and to decide whether lime or sulphur is needed to adjust the soil.
When you enquire
Tell us the crops you grow and whether you need a simple probe or a digital meter.
Care and handling
Clean the probe with a soft cloth after each use and never push it into stones or hard soil. Test only in moist soil, store it dry, and compare it against a test kit now and then to check it still reads correctly.
