Needle Vibrator
What it is
A needle vibrator, or poker, is a slim rod that is pushed into freshly poured concrete and vibrates to shake out trapped air. The rod is driven by a motor through a flexible shaft.
Typical uses
It is used in columns, beams, walls and foundations to compact concrete so it fills the formwork without honeycombing and reaches full strength.

Care and handling
Wash the needle straight after each pour so concrete does not set on it, and never leave it running in air for long because it overheats. Check the flexible shaft and connections, and do not bend the shaft sharply.
