Extended/Shutter Vibrator
What it is
An extended or shutter vibrator is fixed to the outside of the formwork and shakes the whole shutter, so the concrete inside is compacted from the outside rather than by a rod inside it.
Typical uses
It is used for thin walls, precast elements and tall or congested formwork where a needle cannot reach easily.

Care and handling
Fix it firmly to the formwork with the clamps provided and check the fixings regularly, since vibration loosens them. Keep the motor dry, use a proper supply and earthing, and clean concrete splashes off the body.
