Corded Electric Tiller
What it is
A corded electric tiller is a small powered cultivator with rotating tines that break up and turn over soil. It runs from a mains power lead instead of a petrol engine, so it is quieter and needs no fuel.
Typical uses
It suits vegetable beds, flower borders and small plots close to a power point, for loosening soil before planting and mixing in compost or fertiliser.
When you enquire
Tell us the size of the plot and how far it is from a power socket, so you can judge the cable length you will need.
Care and handling
Use a properly rated outdoor extension lead and a residual-current plug, and keep the cable behind you and clear of the tines. Clean soil and roots from the tines after use, and never work in wet conditions or clear jammed tines while it is plugged in.
