Grafting Gardening Knife

What it is

A grafting knife is a small, very sharp knife with a short blade for making the clean, precise cuts needed to join a cutting (scion) onto a rootstock. Some versions include a grafting tape.

Typical uses

Nurseries and orchard growers use it for grafting and budding fruit trees and roses, and for trimming small stems where a clean wound helps healing.

When you enquire

Tell us whether you need a straight or curved blade and whether you graft mainly fruit trees or ornamentals.

Care and handling

Keep the blade razor sharp and wipe it with alcohol between plants so disease does not spread. Cut away from your body, fold or sheath it after use, and dry it before storing to prevent rust.
