Soil Testing Kit
What it is
A soil testing kit is a set of reagents and a colour chart, or test strips, that let you check soil for values such as pH and main nutrients on site, by mixing a soil sample with water and comparing the colour.

It is used by farmers and gardeners before planting or feeding, to see which nutrients the soil lacks and avoid over- or under-fertilising.

Care and handling
Take samples from several spots at the same depth and mix them, use clean tools and distilled or clean water, and follow the timing on the instructions. Keep reagents sealed, cool and out of reach of children, and check the expiry date.
